How long does bespoke joinery take?
It depends on the scope of the work. A single bespoke piece, a fitted unit or a set of shelves, can typically be turned around relatively quickly once the design is agreed. Larger or more complex items like staircases or architectural oak framing take longer and are planned in as part of the wider project timeline. We'll always give you a clear idea of timescales before work begins.
What's the difference between joinery and carpentry?
Joinery generally refers to the making of wooden components in a workshop, things like doors, windows, staircases, fitted furniture and frames. Carpentry is the on-site installation and fixing of those components. In practice, at Rosedale the two go hand in hand. Our joiners make the pieces in our workshop and our team fits them on site, so there's no disconnect between the two.
